(DIP) TURKISH LAWMAKER REAFFIRMS EU ACCESSION COMMITMENT

STOCKHOLM (A.A) - Mevlut Cavusoglu, a Turkish lawmaker andpresident of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, has reiteratedhis country's commitment to become a member of the European Union."Despite all difficulties and hindrances, there is no shift in Turkey'swillingness for the EU accession. Our country will continue its resolute marchtoward that goal,"Cavusoglu told a Stockholm conference over Turkey's futurerole in the EU.Cavusoglu also rejected"a shift of axis"in Turkey's foreign policydirection, saying a country that had"an active foreign policy cannot not limititself to single geography."Cavusoglu also held a meeting with Goran Lindblad and paid a visit toBirgitta Ohlsson, Swedish Minister for EU Affairs.(İMB-AY)
