ADANA (A.A) - The"17th International Adana Golden Cocoon FilmFestival"will take place in southern province of Adana between September 20 and26.The festival was originally scheduled for June 7 to 13, 2010 but waspostponed, following the May 31, 2010 Gaza flotilla raid by Israel that killednine Turks and a terrorist rocket attack on the Iskenderun Naval Base, with AdanaDeputy Mayor Mustafa Tuncel announcing,"We cannot have fun while people arecrying".The festival will bring the world's newest films to Adana and show them tofilm lovers for a week.In a written press release, the Golden Cocoon Press Center said that"duringthe week, more than 200 films will be shown in seven halls".Three contests will be held as part of the festival, namely"NationalFeature-length Film Contest","National Student Films Contest"and"MediterraneanCountries Short-films Contest".Greek Director Theo Angelopoulos will be the"guest of honor"at thefestival.During the festival, Angelopoulos's films will be shown and film lovers willhave a chance to speak with Angelopoulos in a special chat session.(SOL-CE)
