VAN (A.A) - Security forces seized 27 kg of heroin in anoperation in eastern Turkey, officials said on Saturday.Gendarmerie received a tip that a drug cartel would transport heroin fromthe eastern province of Van to western countries. Gendarmerie followed a car andstopped it near Gurpinar town. They found the heroin stashed in 51 packs inhidden compartments of the car.Driver of the car was arrested, officials said.In another operation, gendarmerie teams in the southern province of Hatayseized 19.5 kg of hashish during a drug bust at a house.
