(DIP) TURKISH MINISTER ON HIS MEETING WITH SYRIAN PRESIDENT

DAMASCUS (A.A) - Turkish State Minister&Deputy Prime MinisterBulent Arinc said on Sunday that all the people in Syria, starting from thecountry's president to the citizens on the street, had friendly and brotherlyemotions towards Turkey.Arinc, who is currently paying a formal visit to Syria, briefed reporters onhis meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Asad.Arinc said that bilateral and regional issues were on the agenda of themeeting during which al-Asad also promised to provide all kinds of opportunitiesto Turkish investors who desired to do business in Syria.Minister Arinc also said that al-Asad expressed his appreciation overTurkey's stance regarding the Syrian-Israeli conflict and the Palestinian issue.Upon a question on whether security issue and terrorist organization PKKwere on the agenda of the gathering, Arinc said such issues were not discussed,however, the Syrian president said that his country would support Turkey in everymatter.Commenting on his meeting with Syrian Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Abrashas well, Arinc said Turkish and Syrian parliaments had strong relations.Abrash also expressed the importance Syria attached to Turkey during thetalks, Arinc said.(DO-UK)
