GAC India launches Console service to speed India-China trade

DUBAI's GAC logistics has launched its GAC Console service, a new direct import consolidation service for shipments from the Far East to expand its intra-regional coverage cutting shipment time to 15 days, compared to 22-25 days when sent via Singapore.

The new service offers a direct, weekly service which enables cargo from Shanghai, Shenzhen and Ningbo in mainland China, Hong Kong and Singapore to be shipped directly to the western Indian port of Nhava Sheva, rather than being routed via Singapore as a transshipment hub.

GAC India's country manager Gracias Theva said the launch of Console will offer "best-in-class connectivity and price", while increasing cargo safety standards and reducing transit times.

"Console facilitates trade between businesses in both countries - especially small and medium-sized enterprises - by providing a vital link to help them extend their global reach in the most cost-efficient way with the added benefits of flexibility and reliability," he added in a company statement.

The service will be headed up by GAC India sales manager of imports Godfrey Franklin.

GAC is a global provider of shipping, logistics and marine services and employs over 9,000 people in more than 300 offices in 40 countries, GAC India was established.
