Exercise against pollution in Turkey:

"SULH 2007"(Peace 2007), the first ever exercise in Turkey aimed at minimizing oil pollution caused by possible sea accidents will be performed in Ereğli town of the northern city of Zonguldak in the Black sea from September 5 to 7. Officials from Black sea littoral states Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Georgia will also participate in the exercise.

 

Bodrum Museum boasts world’s oldest leaflet

Yıldız revealed that the parchment was excavated from the Uluburnu shipwreck dating from the 14th century B.C. found off the coast of Kaş Uluburnu in 1982. Yildiz said, “among the many artifacts we found in the wreck was the world's oldest leaflet. We assume the leaflet was used as the captain's log.”
