Dutch-flagged dry cargo ship Amstelborg at berth in  Borusan Port of Turkey,   on Wednesday's strong SW winds, broke lines and hit the quay, ended with a hole in the hull. The vessel struck the dock at the pier and  tear occurred along the shell  approximately 2 meters in length. An estimated 25-30 tons of fuel from 155 tons total on board, leaked to the harbor, causing an environmental disaster.

Continued fuel leakage from the ship turned around, barriers are established.If the current fuel on board is scheduled to be pumped out.

19.04.2012 at 08:30 h according to the meeting held with the Port Authority Gemlik; beach clean-up operations are continuing spread of fuel leakage from the ship stopped for now.

The head of the administrative investigation was initiated with the incident Borusan Gemlik Port Port authorities and P & I insurance has agreed to work cleaning a private firm.
