The "Şehit Mustafa Aydoğdu" on the Kadıköy-Karaköy route on Feb 8, 2012, went adrift and was unable to dock after the engine suddenly failed.

The "Şehit Mustafa Aydoğdu" on the Kadıköy-Karaköy route on Feb 8, 2012, went adrift and was unable to dock after the engine suddenly failed. The ship allided with the Galata bridge and caused some passengers to fall. Other panic-stricken passengers attempted to jump from the vessel onto shore, leading crew and police to take preventive measures for their safety. A second steamship later approached and carried the angered passengers to the Karaköy dock.
