Missing Syrian freighter found in or near Turkish waters in Black sea, vessel issued distress signal and went off communications on the night of April 9, being some 30 nm off Novorossiysk.

Missing Syrian freighter found in or near Turkish waters in Black sea, vessel issued distress signal and went off communications on the night of April 9, being some 30 nm off Novorossiysk.

Luckily, everything is ok, vessel ran to Turkish coastline to shelter from SW storm, raging in Russian waters and coastal provinces.

Vessel contacted Turkish Coast Guards and informed through them all involved parties on her status, which is ok, and explanation why vessel went off line.

Freighter is loaded with about 1,000 mt citrus fruits destined for Russia.
