On Jan 30 at about 1700 Indian Navy ship INS Vindhyagiri collided with German boxship Nordlake.
INS Vindhyagiri was returning to Mumbai after celebrating "Day at Sea" with families of military personnel, at least 200 people.
Fire broke out as a result of the collision, but all civilians were evacuated, no injures or casualities.
Boxship took a sharp turn to avoid collision with another freoghter and rammed into INS Vindhyagiri. Both ships suffered some damage, investigation under way.

Mumbai, Jan 31: Following a collision between a foreign merchant ship and Indian naval vessel, a major fire caught in the naval ship in the wee hours on Monday, Jan 31. Twelve hours have already gone but the fire is yet to be controlled by the navy officials.
INS Vindhyagiri, the naval ship collided with the merchant vessel at Mumbai Harbour on Sunday (Jan 30) evening. Eight fire engines and Navy have been trying to control the fire from the morning on Jan 31.
The family members of Navy personnel were celebrating the 'Day at Sea' when the coalition took place. Though no news of casualties and oil spill have been reported yet.
According to an official, INS Vidhyagiri was returning to the dockyard while the merchant vessel was leaving Mumbai harbour when the two collided.
Sources informed that possibilities of saving the warship seemed bleak.
