Fayard A/S has redelivered the Chinese owned bulk carrier Cleantec after repairing the damage caused by the collision with the container carrier Frisia Rotterdam. The repair work was finished several days ahead of schedule. Fayard has removed and replaced around 100 tons of steel. After leaving the Fayard yard in Munkebo, the Cleantec sailed to Fredericia to reload the cargo of fertilizer destined for Paranagua in South America.

The Cleantec, 33,344 DWT, sustained a seven metre long crack in its hull after a collision with the German-owned container carrier Frisia Rotterdam on December 13.

The Frisia Rotterdam, 33,784 DWT, sustained only minor damage to its forebody. The Hongkong-flagged Cleantec, built in 2009, is owned by Adani Shipping. The German-flagged Frisia Rotterdam, built in 2004, is owned by Hartmann Schiffahrts GmbH.
