On Jan 7 at 7.45 a.m. the two stern ropes of the "Frisia II" got entangled in the propeller after the departure.

On Jan 7 at 7.45 a.m. the two stern ropes of the "Frisia II" got entangled in the propeller after the departure of the ferry from Norddeich.

After they were thrown from the bollards, they got caught in the port side propeller which was running astern.

The sudden tension caused that the leg of a crew member which was standing between bollard and bulwark got caught and severely wounded.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance. Divers were called and cleared the propeller within 30 minutes. The ferry had to cancel its trip to Norderney and remained in port for investigations.
