Turkish Ship Aground Near Marseilles

A Turkish cargo ship crashed into rocks near French coastal town of Marseilles on Wednesday. The 84-meter cargo ship, "Gunay 2", which departed from Marseilles port for Italy, was carrying 3,000 tons of wheat, reported World bulletin.
Wednesday, 21.Jan.2009, 15:04 (GMT+3)

The accident took place due to bad weather conditions, officials said.

Six people from the ship's crew were taken safely to the port after the accident while the captain and three more people stayed on board to help rescue teams.

The ship would be pulled back to the port via tugboats on Wednesday, officials also said.
