Cargo ship refloated off Dardanelles
On July 4 at 8.30 p.m. the master of the "Hacı Süvari", which had run aground with a cargo of 900 metric tons of clinker enroute from Akçansa Port to Marmara Ereğli near Beşiğe Point on July 1, signed a salvage contract with the tug "Kurtama 3".
The ship tried to refloat by her own means but that did not succeed. Finally salvage demand was made to Turkish Coastal Safety. The ship's cargo was partly transferred to another ship and thus the ship could be refloated.
On July 5 at 2.15. a.m. the ship with its crew of nine was refloated and anchored off Karanlık Limana at 4.4. a.m.
