35 die in Qingdao pipeline explosion, ships sent to outer anchorage
SHIPS in Qingdao were ordered out to sea after a pipeline explosion killed 48 and injured 166 people and incoming ships were diverted to outer anchorages while vessel calls cancelled.
The explosion occurred after a leaking oil pipeline caught fire, reported GAC Hot Port News. Workers were repairing the pipeline at the time of the explosion.
